Ippocalyptica Innovation can be overrated, especially when in the service of itself, and while we need and love the bands like Dødheimsgard and Imperial Triumphant that consistently push the limits and show us new terrain, we also need those who remind us that the second wave of Norwegian BM never actually ended. Djevel carries the flag of the mid-tempo, atmospheric legions with honour, valour, and pride, and they also prove that lengthy BM epics will never go out of style. This is infinitely listenable!

Nekyia It is an excellent Album. A true masterpiece for me - if not the best I've ever listened to. It's highly unique and every song is outstanding. I'm listening to this Album nonstop since the release, and I'm neither getting tired nor bored at all. It feels more like a new experience every single time I start listening to it. Djevel deserve all attention they can get for this piece of art ♥

Andy There is a first time for everything ! Never come across an album where I find that I am NOT enjoying a song only for that feeling to transform into LIKE and then to move into LOVE ! And you can just rinse and repeat for the whole album !! Love the abrasive parts, the acoustic parts and just ALL the parts now !! Favorite track: Mitt tempel av stierner og brennende maaner.

H.L. #3 2022: DJEVEL stand for the true essence of Nordic black metal, reaching back in the 90s in terms of sound, roughness and atmosphere. The epic anthems are melodic but not really catchy in first instance, as the songs are too complex and varied. It needs several repeats to sink deeply into the album and get lost in its grandness. But when that finally happens this masterpiece turns into a timeless and thrilling soon to be classic and annual TOP 10 release! Favorite track: Kronet av en væpnet haand.

Djevel The best Norwegian Black Metal band and one of the greatest Black Metal bands ever. The nostalgic atmosphere in Djevel's music is what distinguishes it from every other band. I am still on the first few listens of this album but I could safely say that nothing in Djevel's art beats Blant Svarte Graner yet. Finally, I must add that the Kvitrim vocal performance is impeccable. This album along with Deathspell Omega's The Long Defeat are the best Black Metal albums of this year so far.

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended. Rabbit

Tout est une question de perspective. En regardant la pochette d'Algleymi, on se dira : "c'est un constat d'échec de l'humanité face aux puissances cosmiques". Mais le gigantisme de cette silhouette est un signe que Misþyrming veut plutôt s'emparer de cette puissance et le black metal le confirmera très vite. Il est plus maîtrisé, massif et épique. Si le chant est déjà impressionnant, dégageant plus de haine, les guitares sont de leur côté absolument monumentales. Un chef-d'œuvre du genre ! Jordan Vauvert
